Attending an LLLC Group or LLLC Breastfeeding Essentials Prenatal Class

We appreciate your interest in attending an LLLC Group.

The purpose of an LLLC meeting is to provide peer-based breastfeeding, chestfeeding and human milk feeding support and information to those interested in breastfeeding. LLLC meetings are not breastfeeding classes rather they are interactive discussion groups. The LLLC Leaders at the meeting are responsible for facilitating the discussion and providing attendees with evidence-based information. LLLC Leaders are trained volunteers who have all breastfed or provided human milk for their babies. Healthcare students and professionals may attend and participate in our meetings at the discretion of the Group’s Leaders. Healthcare students are invited to participate in the discussion on a personal level and are asked to not give recommendations or professional advice.

La Leche League Canada supports sharing evidence-based information regarding safe sleep so that parents can make informed decisions.

Please Note: It is important that registered individuals have spoken to an LLLC Leader prior to registering. Not all Groups are open to professionals or students attending their Group. There is a $25 fee.

Please complete a registration form after speaking with an LLLC Leader.

Thank you for your interest in our LLLC Breastfeeding Essentials class. We hope that you will recommend it to your expectant clients and patients.

Healthcare providers are asked to pay a fee of $50 to attend the class which is offered at no cost to those planning on breastfeeding.

This fee will contribute to the valuable work of La Leche League Canada. We appreciate your support. You will receive a receipt for $50 for the cost of the class.

Please register to attend the LLLC Breastfeeding Essentials class here.

Information on Becoming an IBCLC

Many people contact La Leche League Canada asking how to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). The certification is awarded by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE). This organization was launched with the support of La Leche League in 1985. But it is important to know that LLL and IBLCE are two completely separate organizations.
