In Loving Memory

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Margaret Bennet-Alder, a remarkable woman whose legacy is woven into the very fabric of La Leche League Canada.

Margaret was the 11th Leader to be accredited in Canada—a pioneer who began her journey with LLLC around 1963, when breastfeeding support was rare, but so desperately needed. Her passion for breastfeeding and unwavering dedication to supporting families left an indelible mark on countless lives.

Margaret held many roles within LLLC, always leading with grace, love, and an unshakeable belief in the power of community.

Margaret’s heart and home were always open. She generously hosted LLLC meetings in her home, creating a safe and welcoming space for parents to find support, friendship, and understanding. Her warmth and kindness were felt by everyone who had the honour of knowing her.

Margaret’s legacy will continue to inspire us, reminding us of the importance of connection, community, and the power of a nurturing presence.

We extend our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones. We are eternally grateful for her contributions and the love she poured into La Leche League Canada.

Rest in peace, Margaret. Your light will never fade.
